Introduction
- Pulley plays a role of saving labor,supporting wire rope and being a guide for wire rope.
Materials constitution
- For light and medium-size bridge crane, pulley can be made with gray cast iron HT15-33 and nodular QT-10.
- For heavy bridge crane, pulley is produced with cast steel ZG25 or ZG35.
- Major diameter pulley(D>800mm)can be weld with carbon steel Q235A.
Diameter of pulley has a direct impact on service life of wire rope.
- Wire rope will bent once every time it is through the Crane pulley.
- Repeated bent is one of the most important reasons causing rope damage.
- The smaller diameter of pulley is, the more seriously wire rope bends and the more quickly wire rope damages.
- It requires the diameter of pulley and wire rope keep a reasonable proportion to make wire rope a long service life.
- In order to make wire rope through pulley smoothly, radius of pulley groove bottom should be slightly bigger than radius of wire rope,that is to say, r=(0.53~0.6)d. When diameter of wire rope is bigger.
Safety Inspection of Pulley
- Crane Pulley Block can rotate agilely with hand-handling in normal working condition, and lateral swinging no more than D0/1000(D0 is the nominal diameter of pulley block).
- Cuttings and dust in the oil-way and oilhole on the shaft must be cleaned. Inspect whether oilhole and oil sink on the spacer bush between the bearings is aligned or not.
- When there are flaws on the pulley block, the pulley should be discarded as useless and stopped to use.
- Radial direction of pulley rope groove abrades no more than 30% of rope diameter;
- Pulley groove wall abrades no more than 30% of original wall thickness.
- Defect area in the axle hole is less than 0.25cm square, depth no more than 4mm.
